Asia Pacific’s largest ground transport comparison site, VroomVroomVroom.com.au, has beaten local and international competitors to land a coveted partnership with Melbourne Airport.
VroomVroomVroom will power a new online car rental booking engine for Melbourne Airport, allowing visitors using the airport’s website to easily compare and book car rental in just minutes.
With more than 36 million passengers passing through its doors last year, the airport is expecting those numbers to nearly double over the next two decades with visitor numbers forecasted to hit almost 70 million by 2038.
Melbourne Airport’s Chief of Parking & Ground Access, Lorie Argus, said with that growth in mind, the airport is overhauling its e-commerce strategy in parallel with a planned upgrade of its terminals and facilities.
“This partnership is about truly putting our passengers in the driver’s seat to choose how they want to travel to and from the airport, with the greatest convenience and at the best price.”
“It is another example of improving the range of choice available to passengers and taking the stress out of travel.”
“Vroom’s track record with other airports such as Perth and Newcastle gave us great confidence in the model and we are excited to be entering this new partnership.”
VroomVroomVroom Partnerships Manager, Jordan Hooper, said that the company was ecstatic about the chance to work with one of the APAC region’s leading airport brands, which is a strategic tourism hub for Victoria and a gateway to global events such as the Australian Open, Melbourne Cup and the Grand Prix.
“We are delighted to land this partnership and offer a quick and easy online car rental booking experience for visitors to MelbourneAirport.com.au,” he said.
“We will also be working closely with Lorie and the airport’s e-commerce team to identify and unlock new ancillary revenue streams via our ground transport booking technology offering.”
VroomVroomVroom.com.au is Asia Pacific’s largest car rental comparison site. Its B2B division (V2Btravel.com) supplies booking technology to a diverse range of site partners including Tigerair.com.au, Perth Airport, Newcastle Airport, Stayz.com.au, ANZ Staff Club and Woolworths Plus Club among others.
